Bison - Custer State Park, Black Hills

Custer State Park has the second largest public bison herd (approximately 1500 animals) after Yellowstone National Park (which has about 5000-6000 animals).  The bison herd is rounded up every fall to allow inspection of the herd, vaccination and tagging, and to cull 400-500 animals to be sold through auction.
